*LOCAL PASTORS MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY!

“Rev. Dr. Raymond A. Bell Jr. & Rev. Dr. Charles W. Wormley”

Rev. Dr. Raymond A. Bell, Jr., is a native of Washington, D.C and has served as the Senior Pastor of Mount Hope Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, Virginia for over 30 years. Under his spiritual guidance and leadership, the membership has increased significantly. Strategic planning, focused church growth initiatives, coaching, mentoring and training have been major emphasis areas in Pastor Bell’s ministry. Realizing the church’s role in its footprint, Mount Hope Baptist Church has positioned itself as a humanitarian hub in the Fredericksburg area, such that the community affectionately refers to the church as “The Hope”.  Through his influence, the church has partnered with numerous community organizations as it relates to housing, homelessness, healthcare, hunger, higher education and civil rights.

His love of community involvement inspired him to serve as an adjunct professor at Germanna Community College, Locust Grove campus, as a chaplain for both the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Department/ Fire and Rescue Department, on the Spotsylvania Education Foundation, and as an Aspire mentor for Spotsylvania County schools. In addition to being a passionate pastor and community leader, Pastor Bell is founder and president of Mosaic Expressions LLC, a leadership coaching and consulting firm. The sole purpose of the organization is the development of leaders through training programs, critical analysis evaluation, and executive coaching.  Through these leadership experiences, he has developed a unique ability to assist leaders in transforming thought and finding new possibilities.

Finally, Rev. Bell has demonstrated his commitment and dedication to a better community by running to serve as a Board of Supervisor on two separate election cycles. He is a “True Community Leader”

Rev. Dr. Charles W. Wormley, Sr is currently serving in his twenty-sixth year as Pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Spotsylvania County. Prior to coming to Mt. Zion, he served at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Madison County, for over fifteen years. He was born and reared in Spotsylvania County, VA. He is married to the former Patricia Smith of Fredericksburg, VA. They have four children and eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Rev. Wormley Sr. is truly a local “Titan for Civil Rights”. Not only does he lead and prepares his congregation to worship and serve our creator, he also consistently demonstrates and reminds them of their civic duty to assist mankind. It should be noted that during the recent tension surrounding the killing of George Floyd, Rev. Wormley was instrumental in bringing together several churches and community organizations to establish a “Minister’s Coalition” to address the concerns of the community as well as police and criminal justice reform. His dedication and commitment resulted in local law enforcement reviewing and developing new laws to address concerns surrounding policing and treatment of minorities. His actions contributed to the county preparing a “Race Relation Proclamation” stating the county supports equality, justice and fairness for all its citizens. Through Rev. Wormley’s leadership and efforts, the NAACP, Minister’s Coalition and Concern Citizens meets with the Sherriff, Board of Supervisors and the Rappahannock Regional Police Academy on a frequent basics.

Reverend Wormley is commended for his untiring dedication and commitment to making Spotsylvania a better place to live for all its citizens.
